Robert, Mike and I ran a publicity stand for MFHS in St Lawrence’s church, as part of the Evesham Medieval Market and Living History Camp weekend, 16-17 May. Other community groups also displayed their wares in the church and musical interludes were provided by Vale Connection and Redditch Recorders. The churchyard was packed with stalls selling woven baskets, hand-made knives, leather goods, pottery and wooden tables and chairs, amongst other things. In Abbey Park some 300 re-enactors demonstrated sword fighting and archery, and explained various aspects of medieval life. Despite intermittent showers, the event was well attended.

This event is a fund-raising precursor to the Battle of Evesham Festival, which takes place 1-2 August.
