Visits and Other Trips

The Society arranges visits for our members and guests to places of general genealogical or historic interest like archives, record offices and local places of interest.

Coach trips

We arrange coach trips to The National Archives (TNA) at Kew in West London. The National Archives hold 11 million documents and records going back over 1,000 years of history.  When we go to TNA, we can also accommodate those who would like to go to Kew Gardens instead of the archives. There are pick-up points in both Malvern and Worcester for a coach trip.

Places of local historical interest

There are plenty of places to visit locally which do not require coach hire. We arrange for group tours to places not necessarily open to the public and organise visits to local towns to explore their history.

If you have ideas for future visits, so please let us know if you have any suggestions. We can not guarantee to go but we will consider them.

Family History Fairs and Exhibitions

The society hosts a stand at some local family history fairs and exhibitions. At these we are happy to give advice on how to research your Worcestershire origins or on any aspect of family history. Do come along and say hello!

Research on Worcestershire Records

One of the key activities of the society is making records and resources available for those with Worcestershire ancestors. This involves locating the records or information of interest, transcribing them into a digital format and then making them available to our members.

Some records are available to all, please look in the Resources area. Others can be found either in the Members’ area of the website or are available via FHSOnline.
