On Saturday 11 November Robert and I ran a publicity stand for MFHS at the Worcestershire Local History Forum Day. The event was hosted and organised by Bromsgrove Society Local History Group and held at Bromsgrove Methodist Centre. Three talks were organised. Quintin Watt spoke on the impact of the Great War on The Bromsgrove Guild and its employees. Pat Tansell described life in Bromsgrove during both world wars, including the war work taken up by local people and the arrival of evacuees and refugees. Julian Hunt talked about the development of Broadway and its beautiful stone houses. Several other societies had stands: Bewdley Historical Research Group, the Black Country Society, Redditch History Society, Romsley & Hunnington History Society and Wyre Forest Historical Research Group. We had an enjoyable day, talking to the other exhibitors and members of the public.

The photo shows Robert and our stand with the Methodist Centre’s poppy-decorated windows in the background.
