With the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) the committee of Malvern Family History Society are implementing the following changes. These are necessary as many of our members and volunteers are in the vulnerable, high-risk groups identified by the government.

Meetings

The Members Monthly Meeting is CANCELLED at least for APRIL. Decisions on further meetings will be made shortly.

The committee meeting scheduled for 2nd April will take place but online rather than in person.

We are looking into the possibility of holding future meetings online, so watch this space!

Committee and Volunteer Activities

The following decisions have been made for the activities carried out by the committee and volunteers.

  • The committee roles (membership, accounts, coordination) are generally performed online with little direct contact but any requirement for contact should be kept to a minimum.
  • Volunteers will receive packs of transcribing via email as needed which will cut down the need for direct contact.
  • Volunteers working at Archives and Libraries are advised to only visit when absolutely necessary.
  • Volunteers are strongly advised to refrain from using public transport as this may present a higher risk. 

The committee will continue to monitor the situation and will update this advice accordingly.
